Barking Mad to Miss it! Proud to be Supporting Suffolk Dog Day

Pound Gates are delighted to announce that we will be sponsoring Suffolk Dog Day on 26th July 2015 at Helmingham Hall, Suffolk. Suffolk Dog Day is fast becoming the canine social event of the year and this year is set to be a record breaker!

The event, now in its eighth year, is a cornerstone of Suffolk Community Foundation’s 10th anniversary and will be held once again in the magnificent surroundings of Helmingham Hall and Gardens, on 26th July 2015.

Suffolk Dog Day offers The barking mad, fun packed day out for dogs and their owners including a brand new spectacle for this year – K9s & Kids Kingdom, a medley of tennis ball, toy, water and Frisbee competition games, plus back by popular demand is the fun dog scurry; dog classes with great prizes; the Doggytude music area; over 80 stalls selling everything from dog accessories to cheese; a scrumptious Catering Village serving gastronomic delights from crepes to curries, burgers to bangers and ice-cream. And don’t forget to visit the Suffolk Community Foundation tea tent where you’ll find Paddy and Scotts coffee and delicious cakes from Ufford Park. With a focus on delivering a fantastic day out for all the family, there are plenty of activities to keep children busy including bungee trampolining, aqua zorbing, a bouncy castle and an inflatable slide. And if that wasn’t enough, your ticket price also includes entry to the fabulous Grade II listed Helmingham Hall Gardens.

With £330,000 having been raised so far exclusively for the benefit of people in Suffolk, Suffolk Dog Day is the county’s largest event of its kind and the jewel in the crown of Suffolk Community Foundation’s event calendar. Money raised reaches those most in need via grants made to local charity and community groups and the entire event is organized by an incredible group of volunteers whose single minded and passionate commitment has led to the event becoming the must go to ‘dog loving day’ of the year.

Tim Holder, Development Director from Suffolk Community Foundation said, “It’s simply astounding what Iain Jamie, and his team of volunteers have created here. Who would believe that an idea that was hatched around a dining room table only a few years ago could now be making such a positive impact on the lives of those most in need and that literally thousands of people simply enjoying a great day out could benefit so many. Ten years of local giving and 10,000 people at the event has a lovely ring to it doesn’t it?”

This year is the Foundation’s tenth anniversary and it is expected that friends of dog day old and new will flock to the iconic surroundings of Helminghall Hall on July 26th in order to make this the biggest dog day ever.

Iain Jamie, chairman of Suffolk Dog Day and a trustee of the Foundation is in buoyant mood and admitted “Dog day is so much fun for all of us and every year people tell us what a great time they’ve had. There are so many fresh ideas and new attractions that we’re absolutely confident that this year’s event will be the biggest and best ever. “We are really grateful to Pound Gates for sponsoring Suffolk Dog Day this year. Thank you for all of your continued support”.
