FIND reaching out to those in need

photo_smallWe recently agreed to support Families in Need (FIND) who are an Ipswich based charity.

FIND provide emergency assistance to families and individuals who are caught in the poverty trap through economic circumstances, illness, homelessness etc and going through a time of crisis. We have agreed a contribution of £421 which will pay for 6 months road tax, servicing and MOT and a steering wheel lock for their new Foodbank van (which they lovingly name Ada).

Four members of staff visited the distribution centre located on Felixstowe Road. We met with the founder, Maureen Reynel, who highlighted the struggle they face to maintain the volume of donations required to meet the growing demand for food parcels. We were also introduced to a number of volunteers that help sort and package the essential items that make up a food parcel.

Finally, Maureen showed us the substantial harvest of food they have collected in preparation for this year’s Christmas Food Hampers which are delivered to over 2,300 families in need during the winter period.
