Brain Tumour Research Wear A Hat Day

On thWear-a-Hat-Logo-web[1]e 27th March staff at Pound Gates and Sevatas participated in Wear A Hat Day raising money for Brain Tumour Research.

Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of UK children with more people under 40 dying of a brain tumour than any other cancer. However research is woefully under-funded receiving less than 1% of national cancer research spending in the UK.

The day held special meaning for staff as Ivan Gates, one of our founding partners died of a brain tumour in 2001 and more recently the devastating news that Ken Buckland, a long-serving member of our team has been diagnosed with an inoperable tumour.

Kevin Collins, owner and managing director at Pound Gates and Sevatas said “Brain tumours have cast a significant shadow on our businesses historically and most recently with Ken. It was lovely that the staff wanted to show support for Ken in this way and help raise awareness and funds for the critical work Brain Tumour Research carry out”
